Have just heard today of Plum's passing. We had many cricket matches against each other in the sixties and after one of these Plum commented to me how much he always looked forward to playing against Eltham. He enjoyed the hospitality in our lovely clubroom after each game. He will be a very sad loss to all your family.

We should celebrate the massive contribution that Pete made not only to rugby and cricket but to the many people he touched during his long innings. His passion, pride and amazing work ethic for anything he undertook was an inspiration to watch and learn from. A Great man, you deserve a spell after bowling into the wind for the past few years since Cath went. Rest well my old mate, you were certainly one of a kind

PLUMTREE,
Peter Wakefield:
The Southern Rugby Club is deeply saddened by the passing of our Life Member Peter Plumtree and would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Ross, John, Paul & Julie and their extended families. Peter was a highly respected former President, Coach and mentor to many. Our hearts and thoughts are with the Plumtree family at this time. We request members of the Southern Rugby Club to please attend in their Club No 1’s on Wednesday 24th June 2020, at the TSB Hub, Waihi Road, Hawera, at 1.00pm, and following the conclusion of the service be prepared to form a Guard of Honour.
