I will so miss seeing you across the road and so miss our chats and times of laughter - our lovely "Mayor of Rosendale Avenue!" You were a very kind neighbour, ready with a helping hand always and I will never forget that. Our street won't be the same without you, my friend.

I first met Phill when he painted my mothers house many years ago. I subsequently enjoyed friday night drinks with him at the New Plymouth Club. One friday he invited be to join one of his rugby trips to either a Taranaki or a Hurricanes game, I can't remember which. I became a regular on the rugby trips that he organised which were great fun.
Phill painted my 1911 villa in 2012, including climbing up a high ladder to get to the finials on the gables. Very brave I thought. A great job at a good price too!
Thanks for all this Phill and rest in peace.
To the family unfortunatley I will not be able to make it to Phill's final farewell but will watch online.

Pat & Family,
It is with sadness we hear of Phills passing but will always remember the fun times we had when he didnt have a paint brush in hand. The night we had up the mountain with Tubbys Tours for my Garys 50th. The beers always flowed well along with many laughs.
You were a top man Phill and will be sadly missed by us all.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Pat and family, Graham, Brian, Evan, and families, and the wider Cottam clan, for the loss of their beloved Phill.
He was the last one to paint Nette's house and she fondly remembers the time they spent then. I remember from when I was little, Phill was the big man with the lovely red hair who visited and laughed along at our dad's jokes.
Our love to all the family.

To Pat and family.
So very sorry to hear of Phil's passing. He was a great neighbour, from painting the inside my house, keeping an eye on my house whenever I went away to bringing in the morning paper and putting it on my back porch. A very friendly helpful person. You are at peace now Phil so spread your wings and fly high.

Condolences to Pat and all the Cottam Family.
Phil came into our lives many years ago. Painted our house, did numerous touch-ups etc and organized many of our rugby trips where we travelled to many parts of the North Island to watch Taranaki play and also the Hurricanes. Phil even put the seats back in his work van and away we went. We called him Father Philly and displayed a sign in the window of the van with Father Philly on it. The fun we all had you would not believe. What happens on the bus stays on the bus.
There are numerous many other happy memories of sharing family ties with you all.
A lovely man with a big heart. We will miss you Father Philly.
Aroha nui.
