I've known Rae Rae seemingly forever. She was my Mum's first cousin, she was our Aunty who shared her personality that no last name was needed; Rae Rae, with a rich history. I saw more of her when she and Peter lived in the Kaumatua Flats. In her latter years, in her presence at the Hungaririki, in Kairau, Rae Rae, served as a Kaumatua, a role she ably fulfilled.

I will think of you in the thunder and lightening, in the rising and setting sun, in the calm of a nice summers day and in the fragrance of the spring flowers. You were all of that. Much aroha.
