Dear Uncle Rennie, Our association with you goes back to 1953 with Mum and you in Hokotika where she spent many hours enjoying your music and many Sundays at your mum's table for lunch. The friendship with our family continued as we children came along. Great memories of waking you up with a cold wet flannel when you came to stay. Your 'horror' at the naked ladies in our bathroom (barbie dolls!!), the fun when you tried to get us back with a cold wet flannel. You playing for our weddings, many happy times! We wish we had known about your passing as we would have loved to have been present at your funeral to say our goodbyes. Rest peacefully dear friend, from Patricia van Laar - nee Lake and Diana Posthuma.

Thanks for allowing me to play on the Church organ in the 60s. You were a great teacher - and I can't believe you weren't too much older than us!!

Rennie we so enjoyed the music you shared each Sunday at Wesley Church Hawera. It was really special to sit quietly at the end of the service and listen to what you had decided to play that day. It was always interesting to listen to why you had decided to play that music. We had fun at the social occasions as well.
Rest easy with your God.

So sad to hear...Boot was my History teacher when I was at HHS and Eric taught along side of him for many years. He had a wonderfully gentle, kind nature and I always enjoyed chatting to him. He will be sorely missed x

Rennie was a great organist and accompanist. I remember his talent and readiness to be part of musical activity very fondly. Best wishes to his family.
