I worked with Richard for close to 14 years in the Adult Mental Health Unit in the Henry Bennett Centre. Over that time I developed a real respect for his support and leadership. Richard, we went through a great deal over that time and shared some moments that tested us all. But we smiled and laughed and kept coming back, knowing that we could rely on each other. As has been expressed in this forum you were a part of that whanau. To Richards family I can only offer my condolences and hope that when you feel the sun on your face and the wind in your hair that you are reminded of him.

R.I.P. Richard, I always enjoyed having an ex-Taranaki friend when working at the H.R.B.C. (Hamilton)to banter with, especially when the rugby was on - we would always wear our Taranaki colours to work.
I always considered you to be a thoughtful colleague to all we had in our care.
