Rita HOLDENER Obituary

Died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday 18 March 2025. Aged 93 years. Dearly loved youngest daughter of the late Franzis and Marie Holdener. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Rosemarie and the late Joe Kuriger, Louise and John Sulllivan (both deceased), Gertrude and Noel Sharkey (both deceased). Cherished aunt of all her nieces and nephews and their families. We are honouring Rita's wish of privately celebrating Requiem Mass as a family.

I have to share my memory of Miss Holdener. I used to sell by Auction the best maidenhair ferns at our Thursday Auctions. She phoned me on a Wednesday morning to arrange a delivery of a fern and to make sure I had her stool ready. She arrived with her friend Mrs Spearman. I couldn't see Hilda. Mrs Spearman said open the boot and there was Miss Holdener hugging the fern keeping it from getting damaged. A true character. RIP. Tom Quinn
