Sincere condolences to you all,
I´m sorry I am unable to be with to to celebrate Shirley´s life.
Although I haven´t seen Shirley for the last 2/3 years she is never far from my thoughts. She was a great golfing friend at Kaitaki for over twenty years. In the early days there was always a play or skit at the end of the year. Shirley was always first to put her hand up. She loved a bit of fun. There was always a get together at someone´s house for Christmas as well.I particularly remember one time at her place in Veale road she met us at the door dressed as Father Christmas with a big bag of presents on her back full of presents for us all.
She was a great poet and always could produce one. One particular one I keep in my golf bad. It tells of a huge pohutukawa that the green keeper saw fit to plant in everyone´s way on the golf course . To this day about 20years later we still curse this tree! And I think of the poem in my bag that Shirley wrote about it. She will always be in my thoughts. Kay Stachurski.

To the Aspinall family - farewell to a special lady, ready for a chat whenever we met, fun on the golf course but special memories of when I was a 5yr old starting school and "Miss Nairn" was getting married. Such excitement for Cardiff School.
Thinking of you all and sending deepest sympathy. Wendy & Scotty Waite.
