So saddened to hear of Pete's passing. He truly was a special person and one I was very fond of. I have many childhood memories of spending time at the family house on cutfield st. Whenever I saw Pete regardless of where he would always yell out 'Mabelline' after the add on television years ago which is what he has called me ever since I was a youngster. I don't think I ever heard him call me by my real name. Even when I worked at marinoto and he visited corki he would yell it out down the hallway!!! He talked so very proudly of you boys whenever we spoke and would always give me updates on each of you. I will never forget you Pete. I will always be your Maybelline.

Dear Peter,
I'm finding it very difficult to deal with the fact that you have left us - that after all these years, you are no longer where I expect you to be.
My thoughts are with the three sons he loved and was so proud of, and his grandson, D.J. whom he adored and who adored him in return.
I hold the hope that they will keep in touch with the wider family and not lose the link that Peter was to us all.
Love you Peter. Wish I'd told you more often.
Aunty Heather.

RIP Pete.
I Only knew you for a very brief time while in hospital, and I knew straight away that you had a heart of gold, a cheeky personality, and a kind soul.´ I loved listening to all your Inglewood stories and your time on the trucks, your family, and your mischief antics with your friend Corki. Your smile will never be forgotten.
Rest easy mate.

Dear Wayne and family, I´m so sorry to hear of the passing of dear Pete. We had such fun times growing up in Moa Street and going on picnics and swimming out at the watering hole. Pete was telling my sister Susie that we would all get together from Moa Street and have a get together. Sadly that won´t be here but when when we all meet up again. He was so very kind and caring to so many people in the town. Used to carry wood inside for Colette Bendall and help her put her wood away in the shed. He mowed lawns for many who were incapable of doing them themselves. You had a truly beautiful heart Pete and are going to be sorely missed. RIP

Deepest sympathies and condolences to Dean, Scott, Grant, uncle Wayne, aunty Cyndi and families. It was always a highlight of our family trips back to Inglewood to call around and catch up with our "uncle Peter", he welcomed us affectionately with a smile and a laugh. In later years we were so full of appreciation and admiration for his devotion to the support and care of so many members of the Inglewood community, including members of the wider Hutchieson family. We feel privileged and touched that he was part of our lives and we will miss him dearly.

SMITH, Stanley Peter (Pete):

Passed away January 4, 2023. Brother Pete decided he must go now and leave me with no other. He knew very well that had he asked me first I would have told him no. But generous Pete with his cheerful grin never knew the meaning of no. So off he went down the shining road on which one day we will travel together. Pete and I were the best of mates and never was he heavy. His whole life was spent helping others and I am so proud he was my brother. Love from Wayne, Cyndi, Rachel, Strahan, Rebecca and families.
