Sending much love to Jack, Esther and family on the passing of your beloved Tui.
A life well lived!

Tough as grit with a heart of Gold. Yes, she did smile and yes, she did laugh, under that strict exterior was a teacher that wanted the best out of her students, to strive to be the best. You have lived a long and fulfilling life that we will remember you always.

Miss Gernhoefer was my Year 4 teacher in the 90s, and I´ll never forget her. Strict, scary, and utterly unforgettable - she ruled with an iron fist and expected the best from us. I was a troublemaker and ended up banished to a desk against the back wall, staring at her sign that read `Your neatness is noticed´ while my desk remained a disaster. Rest in peace, Miss Gernhoefer, you will be remembered with respect, laughter, and gratitude by many of us who had the privilege (and the nerves!) of being in your class.

Our neighbour for many years. Have lots of fond memories.

Remember the fun times on the basketball and tennis courts Tui. May your wings fly high - rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of Miss Gernhoefer. I was a student at Westown School way back in the 80's. I remember her telling offs were scary and never did I want to get caught being naughty. Thanks for the memories, Miss Gernhoefer. Sending my love and thoughts to her family and friends.
