Very shocked at the news. Vaughn, seeing the sparkle in your eyes on Saturday... chatting about your new section, listening about your recent work adventures, least to say it was a coooool conversation!
I feel privileged to be speaking to you about it.

You welcomed our family to NPOB with the biggest smile, helpful beach and travel tips. We are so thankful for.
Even when I moved away to the Mount, I was proud to see you still running the show at National carnivals.

Thanks for everything Vaughn!!
It will be empty not seeing your white van on the beach at carnivals!

A big man with a big smile, big heart and nothing was ever too much for Vaughan to sort on the beach during so many Surf Lifesaving carnivals, regionals, nationals. Our thoughts are with Vaughan's family. RIP.

Travelled with Vaughan multiple time to SLNZ Carnivals/competitions in his bus. Most memorable trip was his bus broke down an hour or two from hosting club, & we all got picked up by other club members that were already there. Vaughan managed to temporarily fix it, drove it back home, got it fixed properly, then drove back & still made it in time for the carnival/competition start. He even knew where the tools were in his van.
An absolute legend taken too soon.

I was very sad to hear about Vaughan's tragic accident. We met on various work sites over the last 20+ years. It was always great to catch up. Vaughan loved to share with me what he was up to and told me everything about his projects, the bigger and heavies the better. My heartfelt Condolences to the family. Rest in Peace Mate.
