Our deepest condolences to Lynley and family.
Vernon, may you rest in peace after such a courageous battle. We feel truly privileged to have called you our friend. A gentle soul, you will always be remembered for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and the way you could bring humor even in the darkest moments.
Life can feel so unfair and cruel at times. May your family find moments of sunshine after the rain, and may those brighter days bring comfort, warmth, and gentle healing.

Wow, this is sad news. A fighter in everything he did and the best family man there could ever be. Loyal to a fault. Condolences to all.

In today´s (26 March 2026) internet copy of the Taranaki Daily News (per Legacy.com) I saw the death notice for Vernon Jones.
To all his family, and especially to you, his wife, Lynley, I offer my sincere sympathy.
I knew and respected Vernon from those far off days when he was a boarder at FDMC in New Plymouth.
With his death the final curtain has now come down, on so much that has been part of your own lives, leaving no doubt many happy memories of the years that have gone so quickly.
May the Good Lord welcome Vernon home with outstretched arms, and may he now be at peace.
