Wally (Walter Robert):
Sadly passed away surrounded by his loving family at Taranaki Base Hospital on 1 January 2021, in his 91st year. Treasured husband of Fay (Mick) for almost 69 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Margaret and Carey Lye (Feilding), Helen and Ray Whyte (Eltham), Christine and Tony Foster (Palmerston North), Maree and Svavar Ingolfsson (Inglewood), Neil and Melinda (Kaimata), Karen and Shane Van Burgsteden (Inglewood). Proud grandad and great-grandad of his 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Margaret (deceased), Jim and Noeline, Brian and Myra, Ian and Peta Symes. Thank you to the staff of Ward 4B, for the love and wonderful care shown to Wally and family. It was Wally's wish to have a private service, which has been held.

Patron and life member of the Waihi-Waitara Collie Club, winner of the Straight Furrow Merit Award. We acknowledge the contribution Wally made to our club and his beloved huntaway course over so many years. His wonderful memories of dog trials have now ended and he will be sadly missed by the club. Our thoughts are with Wally’s family at this time.
