Makere (nee Wharehoka):
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday 9 February 2016, at Sunhaven Resthome, Bell Block, aged 83. Cherished daughter of Tunui and Puna Wharehoka. Beloved wife of John Wano. Adored Mama to Hayden and the late Antonia, the late Hinenui and Steve, Tunui and Julie, the late Te Kauhoe and Pirihira, Wharehoka and Emere, Troy and Cecilia. Kuia to 35 mokopuna. Amazing sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunty, whanaunga and friend. Makere will lie in state at Muru Raupatu Marae, 113 Te Arei Road West, Sentry Hill from 8am on Thursday, 11 February. A Requiem Mass will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church, 106 Powderham Street, New Plymouth at 10am on Saturday, 13 February.
