Dear family
It is a shock to hear not only of Wayne but also Margaret's passing. Wayne was my husband's closest colleague not only at Taranaki Polytech but also later at Zelam. Wayne's dry wit and sense of calm bought later in life to gaming with my husband is one of my fond memories. What a special couple. It is a shock to learn of their loss.

To Wayne's family,
I'm very saddened to learn of Wayne's passing. Wayne was my chemistry tutor for a few years at Taranaki Polytechnic in the late 90s. He was very kind, patient and knowledgeable. I am very grateful to Wayne for everything he taught me as too I'm sure are many a laboratory technician that he tutored. My condolences to you all. Rest in peace Wayne.

I had for many years the absolute pleasure of arranging travel for Wayne and Margaret. Even when they left New Plymouth, they always kept in contact. Wayne kept his good energy on tap, as Margaret always came up with different exciting places to stop on their way to the UK to visit family. I particurlarly loved Wayne's sense of humour given he clearly got a kick out of the thought of us winding his children up by me adding in something really wacky to their "offical planned flight itinerary", which he used to send on ahead of their arrival. I think the best one we came up with was to include Azerbaijan as a flight "stop over" on the way over to the UK . This had all 3 of us, sitting around laughing our heads off, with the mere thought that we may just be able to fool the kids this was really happening. Bon Voyage for the last time Wayne! Sending massive hugs to you Margaret, and am so sorry I can't be there in person.

To Margaret, Grant, Mark, Darin and families
My sympathy goes out to you all in the loss of a wonderful husband and father.
I worked with Wayne for over 30 years, initially at the Taranaki Polytechnic and later at Zelam, (now Arxada).
He was the kindest and most generous colleague and will be sorely missed by the many people he came in contact with.
RIP Wayne

Sorry to hear about your loss Margaret. It is a few years since we caught up (we also moved away to Mount Maunganui 9 years ago) but I will never forget the years that I spent working with Wayne at the Regional Dairy Laboratory in New Plymouth. Wayne was very good at his job and a pleasure to work with. I also remember running the New Plymouth half marathon and the Rotorua Marathon with Wayne. He was a bit faster than me.

I am so sad to hear of your loss Margaret. It was such a shock to read that he suddenly passed away. Many a year we spent doing Tai Chi together and we have really missed him since you both shifted to the east coast. Please know that our thoughts are with you in this sad time. Love and light from Judi and the Taranaki Tai Chi group.
