Sending our love and deepest sympathy to you, Jill, and all the family.
Our family have many fond memories of our time at Frankley School and will remember Les with great affection, respect and gratitude for his extraordinary leadership, funloving enthusiasm and positivity.
Les was a wonderful principal who had the talent of making each individual in the school community feel special, with his genuine warmth and caring, encouraging every student to "Reach for the Stars!"
May he rest in peace as we cherish those memories.

I was at Frankley School when Mr Osten arrived there and he taught me in Standard 4. He was the most amazing teacher I ever had and the education he provided me with for that year has had a great influence on the rest of my life. I have been a primary teacher myself now for about 20 years and if I ever am asked why I choose teaching as a career the answer is easy. The main motivation I have is to try to provide tamariki today with the same learning experience that I had the privilege of receiving from Mr Osten. Kua hinga te totara i te wao nui a Tane. Hi Jill,
I'm so sorry to hear of Les' passing. His first ever Frankley Std4 class loved him to bits, and when I get together with any of the class crew, he always comes up as one of the best things ever about our time at Frankley. He was so full of energy and fun! Kia kaha.
