Sue Ellen Thorp, 63

Sue Ellen Thorp, 63, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at her home in Kalispell, Montana.

Sue Ellen was born on July 7, 1962, in Whitefish, Montana and graduated from Ephrata High School in 1981. She was a caregiver at Synergy Home Care and was beloved by those she cared for. Sue Ellen was a member of the Kalispell Moose Lodge 1922 and devoted her time caring for others. Sue Ellen was married to Doug Thorp for 34 years (1983-2017). Together they raised their two children, Lisa and Craig.

Sue Ellen is survived by her children Lisa Sanchez and Craig Thorp; her grandchildren, Azalea (20), Aden (17), Makenna (10), Blakely (9), Emma (6), and Eleanor (3), her brothers Derrick McLauchlin and Joe McLauchlin, nieces and nephews.

Sue Ellen is preceded in death by her Grandmother Helen Coverdell, Father Earl McLauchlin, Mother Norma Burns, and Nephew Bobby McLauchlin.

Sue Ellen found joy hosting, feeding, and connecting with those she loved. Her kindness and love touched many lives. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Sue and I were friends for many years from Evergreen Junior High until I left Kalispell in 1994. She was a dear friend when I lived in Kalispell but we lost touch when I moved away. I am so sorry for your loss of your mom and grandmother. Much love and hugs to all of you.
