Marilynn "Lynn" James, was born November 27, 1936, and passed away April 18, 2025.

She married Richard Charles James, August 17, 1957, in St. Paul, Minn., they built a life together centered on love, family, and faith. Marilynn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a tremendous friend to all, from Iowa, Texas, Canada and especially those in Pharr, Texas, where she was a baby cuddler at the hospital, champion baker, and hosted many bridge club and card games in Texas. She was also an original Weight Watchers Host for many years. She and Dick loved traveling and enjoyed cruises and trips together in retirement.

Marilynn is survived by Richard C. James, former owner/operator of Patterson James Funeral Home in Mason City and residing with his son, Michael James in Tennessee as did Marilynn until her passing. She is also survived by their children, Michael E. James, his son Jonathan M. James and his wife Elizabeth K. James and children, Theia E. Rains, Revan J. James, and Amara J. James, Julie A. (James) Reineke, her husband Dale Reineke and Julie's daughter Kelly Jo Upenieks, her husband Chris Upenieks and their kids Blaze and Ava, Lori A. (James) Short and husband William L. Short and their son, Ryan M. Short and his daughter Ivy M. Short.

Marilynn is preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Marie James.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date with eventual inurnment at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.

Notes of condolences and flowers may be saved at this time and eventually can be directed to the funeral home to be provided to Marilynn's family.
