Christopher Morin Obituary

Christopher John Morin, a longtime resident of the Hi-Desert, passed away after an extended illness at Hi Desert Continuing Care in Joshua Tree on June 21, 2025, just four days shy of his 57th birthday.
Christopher was born in Ferndale, Michigan, and in 1981, at age 13, relocated to Joshua Tree with his family.
Chris loved the desert, particularly the Joshua Tree National Park, where he would hike and camp with his children.
He was an athlete, enjoying baseball and basketball, though it was in tennis he excelled; he was world ranked during college.
Chris was employed at Vons as a butcher for many years until a severe back injury incapacitated him.
He enjoyed performing opera with his beautiful baritone voice and was an excellent cook.
Chris was a kind, generous and loving man who will be dearly missed. He leaves behind his former wife, Kirsten Imhoff, of Joshua Tree; three children, Christopher E. Morin, of La Quinta, Mary B. Morin, of Joshua Tree, and Leisa A. Morin, of Joshua Tree; as well as two granddaughters, Julia and Sophia, and three siblings, Elizabeth A. Kuznkowski, of Stuart, Florida, Del M. Morin, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Glory A. Morin, of Bismarck, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Gloria J. Jubelt-Morin, who passed away in 2021, and his father, John J. Morin, who sadly passed away in 1976.
