Demetra Richardson Obituary
Demetra Richardson, age 73, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Warren Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 6, 1952, in Warren, Ohio to parents, Dorothy Bridges of Pittsburgh, PA and George Williams of Warren, OH.
She graduated from Warren Western Reserve High School in 1970, where she met the love of her life, Leo Richardson. Demetra and Leo married on September 18, 1971. She was affectionately known as "Dove" from then on. Following graduation from high school, she later attended a cosmetology school in Warren where she received her certification as a hair stylist and then went on to work at a local beauty shop. Some would agree that Demetra was definitely a risk taker and was not afraid to explore different things. She carved a niche for her interest in "water beds", which were quite popular in the early 70's and 80's. She went on to start her own business there in Warren making her own beds and selling them by order. Demetra and Leo spent tireless hours in their little store building the frames for the popular waterbed. After the store closed, she later took on employment with Ohio Lamp as well as the B.J. Allen Fireworks company. She then went on to work for Trumbull Memorial Hospital for a number of years before retiring from there.
Demetra loved to spend time with her good friends and cherished her time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching movies while at home, and when she was out you could find her at the casino or playing numbers. People knew Demetra as this petite, 5'2'' little woman with blonde hair and a fiery attitude, who walked around town with both arms full of gold bangled bracelets. She loved those bracelets and never took them off.
Precious memories of Demetra live on with her two sons, Kendal Richardson of Columbia, South Carolina, LaVaile Richardson and daughter-in-law, Amber, of Macomb, Michigan; six grandchildren: Korey, Kendal Jr. "ManMan", Kenedi, Ty, Trey, and Tevin; ten siblings, Franklin Williams (Deceased), Renee Hemsley (Washington, D.C.), Mark Jason (Farmington Hills, MI), Deborah Ervin (Pittsburgh, PA), Olivia Bryant (Warren, OH), Elliott Williams, Leigh Williams, George Williams Jr., Samuel Williams, Rashawn Williams, all of Toledo, OH; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are parents; her beloved husband of forty-six years, Leo Richardson, and her brother, Franklin Williams.
