Mary McCummins Obituary

Mary Kathleen McCummins, 84, of New Castle passed away peacefully under hospice care on Tuesday morning, July 22, 2025, in her home. Ms. McCummins was born August 2, 1940, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Leo J. McCummins, Sr. and Anna Grace (Cavender) McCummins, and a 1958 graduate of New Castle High School. She was a longtime employee of Jameson Memorial Hospital. Mary was a longtime member of the Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle – St. Mary's Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 315. Forever proud of her Irish heritage, Mary loved dressing up in her Irish clothing and celebrating St. Patrick's Day. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends and trips to the casino with her longtime friend, Donna. Mary is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday (7-25-25) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, in Holy Spirit Parish – St. Mary's Church, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Union Twp. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McGonigleFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
