Dolly Puckett Obituary

Dolly Marie Puckett, 83, of Mayfield, passed away peacefully at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Providence Pointe Healthcare Center in Paducah, surrounded by her loving family.

Dolly was a devoted Christian and a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and service. Known for her joyful spirit and radiant smile, Dolly touched countless lives through her warm hospitality, gracious heart, and Christlike testimony. A gifted pianist, Dolly brought joy through music throughout her life, playing for church services, teaching piano to her children, and encouraging others with her talent. She faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher, a Christian school teacher, and a full-time partner in ministry alongside her husband, Kenneth Puckett, for over 35 years. Together, Dolly and Kenneth served on staff at Pensacola Christian College to provide their children with a Christian education. They later ministered as camp directors at Harvest Time Baptist Camp and then followed God's call to plant Willow Valley Baptist Church in Vinton, Ohio, as a BIMI missionary for 30 years. Their ministry expanded to include a boys' home and camp ministries, which included a thrift store and a food bank, always rooted in a deep desire to reach souls for Christ. Kenneth often said Dolly was the better soul winner-a reflection of her gentle boldness and genuine love for people. Dolly was the daughter of the late Galen and Dolly Mary (Burnett) Gourley and the cherished wife of Kenneth Puckett for 65 years. She was a devoted mother to six children: the late Gayla Puckett, Kent (Heather) Puckett, Karen (Joseph) Chellew, Dana (Robert) Rohrer Jr, Tracy (Richard) Gelfand, and Gina (Andy) Morrison. She was a treasured grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings, Terrell Gourley of Cunningham; Mike (Pam) Gourley of Mayfield; and Donna (Chuck) Baggs of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Dolly's legacy of faith, music, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Her legacy continues through her extensive and loving family, including Kent & Heather Puckett of Calvert City, and children: Cherrie Sigua, Samantha (Blake) Peterson and their daughters Brooke and Bree, John Sigua, Kent (Diana) Puckett II, Kena-Marie Puckett, and Shelby Puckett; Dana & Robert Rohrer Jr. of Mayfield, and children: Lucas (Jordyn) Rohrer and their children Zayden, Titan, Laylah, and Luca; Jordan (Alorna) Rohrer and their children Corbin, Caiden, and Hensley; and Nickolas Rohrer; Karen & Joseph Chellew of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, and children: Jeff Zweifel and his daughter Havanna, Kristen (Adam) McGovern and their daughters Clara and Beatrice ("Bea"), and Nicolas Chellew; Tracy & Richard Gelfand and children: Richie Gelfand, Jacqueline (Nate) Rice, Marissa Gelfand, and Keith Gelfand; • Gina & Andy Morrison of Amberg, Wisconsisn and children: Drew (Stephanie) Morrison and their daughter Finley, Katelyn (Tim) Brown, and Justus Morrison.

Services for Mrs. Dolly Puckett will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Little Cypress Baptist Church, 10261 US-62, Calvert City. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jim Keeling and Dr. Kenneth Puckett. Burial will follow in the Lowes Cemetery in Lowes.
