Blanche Adams Obituary

Our beloved Blanche returned to her Heavenly Father on March 26th, 2025 with her family close by - hands held, stories shared, and love surrounding her. She was 88 years old.

Blanche was the kind of woman who made people feel seen and loved. She was a faithful wife, a loving mom and grandma, a loyal sister and friend, and a quiet helper in more ways than anyone probably knew.

She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah, on October 20, 1936 - the fifth of seven children born to Melvin and Anna May Patten Hales. She grew up on  a little homestead where they had pigs, chickens, cows, and a big garden. The kind of place where you learned to work hard, say your prayers, and help your neighbors.

Blanche was a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and believed in loving people the way He does. That belief showed up in the way she served - quietly, faithfully, and always with her whole heart. She sang in choirs, served in many capacities in the church (led music, Relief Society President several times, and Sunday School teacher to name a few), and helped organize programs filled with songs of hope and faith.

She wasn't afraid of hard work. Whether it was gathering eggs or hauling hay across the old rickety "Cut Bridge", Blanche was steady and dependable. She worked over the years at places like Jack's Cafe, Standard Optical, a photography shop, Christensen's, JoAnn's, and BYU. In fact, BYU was so grateful for her service, they even named a scholarship after her - a beautiful legacy to pass on.

She loved music, laughter, good stories, and hosting family dinner every Sunday. Most of all, she loved her people: her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews - she loved then all fiercely and prayed for them often.

Blanche is survived by her children: Dawna  (Tim Beavers), Debbie (Lee) Gordon, Julie Carlisle, Steve (Marla) Adams, and Jim (Kristin) Adams; her sister Karen (Larry) Gordon; and a big crew of of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and loved ones who will miss her deeply. She's now reunited with her husband, parents, siblings grandchildren, and others she's loved and missed for a long time. We can only imagine the reunion -  what a joyful, sacred moment that must have been.

A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, March 29th, 2025 at the Spanish Fork Stake Center, 1006 E 200 S in Spanish Fork, Utah 84660.

A Visitation will be held this same day and location from 10:00 am to 11:30 am before the service.

Blanche left behind a legacy of quiet faith, simple goodness, and a heart that made room for everyone. She will be deeply missed, but we'll carry her light with us.
