Francis Marcuss Jr. Obituary

Francis G. Marcuss Jr., 78, of Wallingford, died on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at MidState Medical Center, surrounded by his beloved wife and children. Francis was born on February 22, 1947, a son of the late Francis G. and Stella (Roman) Marcuss. Francis' life was a testament to hard work, family, and love. Francis was the co-proprietor of the Village Barn Café a long with his partner, Phil Albert, until his retirement in 2004. Francis was well-liked and admired by all. He will be remembered for his diverse knowledge, quick wit, and abundance of what he called, common sense. Francis enjoyed the outdoors, the ocean, fishing, landscaping, biking, daily walks, monthly outings with his childhood friend, David, and vacations on Cape Cod with his family. He also cherished the simple things - cooking, watching Yankees games, driving with the top down, and his favorite, watching his children and then his grandchildren play soccer and other sports. Francis was an adoring and devoted husband to Michele, his loving wife of 54 years, a dedicated and selfless father, and a proud Pepa (grandfather). In addition to his wife, Michele, he is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Marcuss; his son and daughter-in-law, Francis and Jamie Marcuss, their children, Molly and Morgan; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lara Marcuss, their children, Lily and Nolan; his two oldest grandchildren, Kyle and Emma Mullany and his great grandchildren, Payten and Jeter Mullany; his sisters, Jackie Hanlon, and Gail DeNegris; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter, Michala Marcuss Mullany. Funeral services will be private and are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home. www.wallingfordfh.com
